MICROBLADING FAQ

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a type of permanent cosmetics, but unlike traditional tattooing, it is a lot less invasive and is actually semi-permanent, with sessions usually lasting 1-3 years before touchups. It is performed with a hand instrument and each hair stroke is done individually. Microblading can rebuild lost and fading brows, can enhance shape and contour, and can enhance thinning brows.

WHAT PIGMENTS ARE USED?

Pigments are created to match your natural tone, or can be made to match any shade or tone you desire.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

First, our cosmetic artist will discuss your current brow condition and what your desired effect is. Next, she will sterilize the area and apply a lidocaine numbing agent and wrap your brows. Then she will measure out and hand shape the look and contour that you’re going for, working closely with you to give you your desired look. Once you’re satisfied with shape and placement, you will begin.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS LAST?

The session will take about 2 1/2 – 3 hours, depending on your needs.

WHAT ABOUT MY SECOND SESSION?

Your artisan will book a follow up session for you immediately following your initial appointment. This will take place 4-6 weeks after your first session, and will be used to touch up and minor areas, and to make sure the final product has healed exactly as desired.

WHAT IS HEALING LIKE?

Your eyebrows will be red and slightly puffy immediately following the session. In the following days, the color will fade 30-50%. This is what we want, to create a smooth, natural look. There is no down time required. Full healing occurs in 7-14 days, and within 4 weeks you’ll get to see how the tones will look fully settled in.

DOES IT HURT?

With our training, care to your comfort, and numbing procedural products, the pain is mild to none!
